<\/a><\/p>\nSo here he is: \u00a0my first attempt at an amigurumi animal, based off a panda bear pattern from the internet, but, as you can see, done as an ordinary teddy bear. \u00a0I finished it off in time to give to my youngest as a birthday present (his 8th birthday, but he\u2019s not too old to enjoy it), but I\u2019m not sure that I\u2019ve found my new (non-blogging) hobby, as crocheting him was a major pain, especially the arms and legs, just in terms of needing to hold a small piece in such a way as to be able to keep the tension in the yarn and simultaneously manipulate the hook correctly. \u00a0And sewing him up afterwards was likewise a major pain.<\/p>\n
My next thought is to browse through the selection of crochet books at the library and see if there\u2019s any other projects that look interesting, since, in any case, the concept of crochet seems promising enough, more so than knitting, since there\u2019s only one stitch\/loop to fuss with at a time.<\/p>\n
Anyway, I was pretty disappointed with this guy at first, because the face looks more rat-like than teddy bear-ish. \u00a0But he\u2019s growing on me.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
