In other words, claims that there\u2019s a double standard that makes men, but not women, legally culpable for drunken sex, are not just speculation.<\/p>\n
And you know what else occurs to me? \u00a0The Jane Doe in the linked story suffered a great deal of distress upon discovering she had had sex while so drunk that she didn\u2019t remember it the next day. \u00a0But it seems that, in the same way as we\u2019re lawsuit-happy as a culture, it became necessary to see this not just as an unfortunate chain of events, something she could learn from, but instead to find a wrong-doer. \u00a0Because she has been classified as a \u201cvictim\u201d there necessarily has to be a \u201cvictimizer.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
