This appears to be the time of year when bloggers look back, to their most popular\/successful posts. \u00a0But, let\u2019s face it, I\u2019m still a new name, and can\u2019t particularly boast of viral posts. \u00a0So instead, my retrospective consists of \u201cblog posts I wish had been more successful, because I really thought I had something useful to share\u201d \u2014 and I\u2019ll start back with the beginning of the blog, in 2013, rather than simply its move to Patheos earlier this year, and pick one per month, more or less.<\/p>\n

1. \u00a0July 13, 2013, \u201cVouchercare<\/a>\u201d\u00a0\u2014 my very second post, in which I propose that the alternative to ObamaCare is in fact to provide vouchers, but without the immense regulation and mandates, and more simply than the complex formulas for subsidies.<\/p>\n

2. \u00a0August 23, 2013, \u201cHave you ever really looked at the financial aid formulas?<\/a>\u201c, in which I looked at the math that produces extremely high Expected Family Contributions.<\/p>\n

3. \u00a0September 8, 2013, \u201cThe Other \u201cOther Pension Crisis\u201d<\/a>\u201c, my first attempt to coin a phrase.<\/p>\n

4, \u00a0October 19, 2013, \u201cGuess the location . . .<\/a>\u201c, with an image that illustrates the problem with dense urban planning.<\/p>\n

5. December 2, 2013 \u201cFood and housing \u2013 Section 8 Vouchers<\/a>\u201c, in which I observe (in the context of lots of articles on the hardships of families on food stamps, and another round of \u201cFood Stamp Challenge\u201d reporting) that the bigger issue is one of housing affordability for low-income families. \u00a0Also see \u201cThe food stamp challenge (again)<\/a>,\u201d earlier that day.<\/p>\n

6. \u00a0January 11, 2014, \u201cWe won the War on Poverty. Really.<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\n

7. \u00a0February 13, 2014, \u201cOn Wage growth \u2014 three graphs<\/a>,\u201d and February 15, \u201cTable of the Day<\/a>,\u201d on men\u2019s and women\u2019s wages and wage growth. \u00a0(In the first post, the graphs didn\u2019t import properly from Blogspot; in Chrome, at least, you have to click on the white space.)<\/p>\n

8. \u00a0March 10, 2014, \u201cAdam, Eve, and Human Exceptionalism<\/a>,\u201d my pet theory on Original Sin.<\/p>\n

9. \u00a0April 10, 2014, \u201cWhy no woman president? (A highly speculative post).<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\n

10. \u00a0June 25, 2014, \u201cBig Cats, and human relationships (updated)<\/a>\u201d on the seeming transformation of families into Big Cat-style relationships.<\/p>\n
