1. \u00a0We\u2019re replaying Vietnam in Iraq and Afghanistan. \u00a0Where does this end? \u00a0The last report I read was Obama, or someone in his administration saying, \u201cit\u2019s not our fault, it\u2019s the Iraqis fault.\u201d \u00a0Yeah, right. \u00a0My son shouldn\u2019t have been running around barefoot on the docks last night when he got his splinter. \u00a0It was his fault? \u00a0Did that preclude us from taking him for treatment when we saw the splinter was in much deeper than we could manage by ourselves? \u00a0(More on that later, by the way, when we get the bills.) \u00a0<\/div>\n

Am I saying that the Iraqis are children? \u00a0Well, strictly speaking, no \u2014 but the point is nonetheless that the Obama administration needs to be mature enough to recognize that it\u2019s not enough just to say, \u201cIt\u2019s not my fault.\u201d \u00a0<\/div>\n

2. \u00a0Lois Lerner\u2019s e-mails are now unexpectedly lost. \u00a0This is scary stuff \u2014 we\u2019ve gone from corruption to cover-up. \u00a0Will this be the end of the line? \u00a0Are the Republicans powerless? \u00a0Will the administration and the IRS succeed in their stonewalling? \u00a0(Yeah, I don\u2019t have a link \u2014 there are plenty out there, especially as linked to by instapundit.com)<\/div>\n

3. \u00a0The continual flow of youth and families over the border, and the game of saying, \u201cthey are not eligible for legal residency\u201d when, so far as I can tell, these border-crossers seem to be reasonably satisfied with the opportunity to live in the current quasi-legal state that existing illegal immigrants possess, in which they use false IDs to work and obtain repeated assurances that, as long as they don\u2019t commit a crime, they won\u2019t be deported.\n

4. \u00a0Moving from \u201chard\u201d politics to social issues, actor Jason Patric is engaged in a court fight<\/a>, not for visitation rights for his son, but for the right to be recognized as father rather than as \u201csperm donor,\u201d and the mother is fighting for the right to have the very existence of a father for her son legally erased. \u00a0Best interest of the child? \u00a0Doesn\u2019t enter into the case at all: \u00a0the mother\u2019s claim is simply that she has a right to be the sole parent to this child. <\/p>\n

This is disturbing, when a child becomes the mother\u2019s property. \u00a0And how many similar cases are there, which don\u2019t make the news because neither party is a celebrity? <\/p>\n
