Cruz crashed in Indiana, and threw in the towel. \u00a0To be honest, I was surprised at how poorly Cruz did \u2014 much worse than the recent polling predicted \u2014 and even more surprised that he dropped out, leaving only Kasich and his fantasies. \u00a0The last I read, I had thought that Cruz still had a chance even if it came down to California.<\/p>\n
Yes, it was clear that the protests over the weekend, and the reports in outlets such as Breitbart of \u201cOccupy\u201d-type protesters with Mexican flags, smashing police car windows, would only work in Trump\u2019s favor. \u00a0But the man is so full of nonsense as to seemingly believe the claim that Cruz\u2019s father was a Lee Harvey Oswald associate!<\/p>\n
A couple days ago I saw a focus group on a news show, portrayed as \u201ctypical Indianans,\u201d who spouted nonsense such as \u201cI feel like Trump is going to do what he says, and the rest of them are all just politicians like they\u2019ve always been.\u201d<\/p>\n
What\u2019s next? \u00a0Reports are that the GOP establishment is, in fact, lining up behind Boehner\u2019s texting buddy. \u00a0Presumably they expect to manipulate him, figuring that as long as he gets the title of \u201cpresident,\u201d he\u2019ll let others actually set policy. \u00a0Perhaps they simply hated Cruz so much they\u2019re willing to lose the presidency as a result.<\/p>\n
I don\u2019t know.<\/p>\n
This is a frickin\u2019 mess.<\/p>\n
And, yes, you Dems can gloat \u2014 but I\u2019ll remind you that Trump won due to Democratic cross-over voters.<\/p>\n
