Yeah, very rarely, I travel on business. \u00a0In this case, it was an internal team meeting in New York, and I didn\u2019t get out much, only during a few short breaks.<\/p>\n

The 9\/11 Memorial. \u00a0I have to say, I was surprised at how small the footprint was.<\/p>\n

though it\u2019s hard to get a good picture of the NYSE on an ordinary camera, what with the fact that it\u2019s not a particularly wide street.<\/p>\n

I had planned to write something extended about cemeteries and memorials \u2014 the fact that these tombstones will be there, theoretically, in perpetuity, long after anyone knows who any of these people are (and, after all, most of the tombstones were no longer legible), and, in the same way, the fact that we build our memorials with attention to naming the specific individuals. \u00a0I do wonder how these memorials will be perceived generations from now, or whether our descendents will even get peeved with the space taken up by burial plots and memorials from so long ago there\u2019s no emotion connected to them any longer.<\/p>\n

But now I have to get back to work, so I\u2019ll leave the commentary to the commenters.<\/p>\n
