Yes, I saw this link on the Best of the Web<\/a>, and got suckered into clicking on it: \u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s Time to Ditch Monogamy<\/a>.\u201d \u00a0I\u2019d like to just write it off as clickbait, and nothing more, though I generally think of The New Republic as a serious website, even if not my cup of tea. \u00a0But her basic claim is this (paraphrased): \u00a0\u201cit\u2019s time to ditch the expectation that one should make a life-long commitment to your romantic partner. \u00a0If you get tired of the relationship, if it starts to require work and no longer makes you happy, you shouldn\u2019t hesitate to just move on.\u201d \u00a0And if you want kids? \u00a0Well: \u00a0(no longer paraphrased)<\/p>\n

If you think life-long commitment is still needed to start a family, a replacement for that has been found too. Earlier this month it was reported that the number of single women seeking artificial insemination with a sperm donor has doubled in five years.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
