here\u2019s an example<\/a>) mocking progressives who agonize over how to have a conversation with family at Thanksgiving \u2014 in some cases, progressives simply fear interacting with Trump supporters, and in other cases, they actively try to instruct each other in how to \u201cconvert\u201d wayward family members to get them to see The Truth.<\/p>\nIs it a small minority of progressives engaged in this hand-wringing? \u00a0Maybe. \u00a0One hopes that most people, no matter their politics, can get along at the dinner table \u2014 and I expect that most family disputes have nothing at all to do with the election.<\/p>\n
But \u2014 heck, I\u2019d love to hear your stories, either about political arguments, or lack thereof, or other great Thanksgiving dinner tales.<\/p>\n
Me? \u00a0It\u2019s just us, because we didn\u2019t make the trek to my folks\u2019 this year. \u00a0And it\u2019s time to get the turkey in the oven.<\/p>\n

Now the family is stuffed to the gills with food, and the fridge is stuffed with leftovers, but it was a very manage-ably-sized meal for the five of us, with favorites made from scratch and others from boxes\/cans. \u00a0And the kids are playing Risk, and my husband is watching chess on the computer, and I\u2019ll see if there\u2019s a book I want to pull off the shelf shortly. \u00a0Later we may or may not have a dessert.<\/p>\n
