Israeli press<\/a>.<\/p>\nWhat does this mean?<\/p>\n
Trump hinted that these threats could be a \u201cfalse flag\u201d operation. \u00a0He can\u2019t possibly be right, can he?<\/em> \u00a0If not, what in the heck is going on?<\/p>\nAnd, incidentally, it seems like something of a relevant fact, that could have been reported on at the time, that these calls were being made to other countries besides the U.S., so much less likely to be a Trump-inspired racist.<\/p>\n
And here\u2019s what CNN reports:<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile the details of this crime remain unclear, the impact of this individual\u2019s actions is crystal clear: These were acts of anti-Semitism,\u201d ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt said in a statement. \u201cThese threats targeted Jewish institutions, were calculated to sow fear and anxiety and put the entire Jewish community on high alert.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re very relieved that the person was caught,\u201d Rick Zakalik, the executive director of the JCC of Greater Buffalo, told CNN. \u201cIt\u2019s obviously a very disturbed young man, and I pity his parents.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Is he \u201cdisturbed\u201d? \u00a0Did he have an agenda? \u00a0Was it an anti-Jewish agenda? \u00a0Can these actions be classified as \u201canti-Semitic\u201d if the intention was not to harm Jews as an ethnic\/religious group?<\/p>\n
This makes no sense \u2013 and, yet, on the other hand, it makes perfect\u00a0sense for it not to have been the sort of Trump-supporting racist we\u2019d all been led to expect it to be.<\/p>\n
