Actually, reading Warren\u2019s piece, I don\u2019t see any concrete proposals one way or the other.\u00a0 The closest she comes is in the \u201cexpand Social Security\u201d in her title, which implies increasing the multipliers in the benefit formula, but she doesn\u2019t venture to provide any specifics in the article itself.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

You are correct that for the large numbers of non-savers, it\u2019s often a matter of unwillingness rather than inability to save, but that\u2019s ultimately neither here nor there; long-term, our best alternative is probably a mix of your earlier proposal and a mandatory-savings system such as Australia\u2019s.<\/p>\n
