So some time ago \u2014 nearly 4 years ago, in my early blogging days, I told you about pumpkin rolls, and shared the recipe<\/a>, which was lost, then found again in an IKEA prop cookbook.<\/p>\n

Yes, these are unsightly. \u00a0Misshapen. \u00a0They didn\u2019t rise quite right and I was impatient as it was getting late, so didn\u2019t let them rise as long as they should have, and I pulled them from the oven prematurely, and I didn\u2019t supervise my 10 year old as he was mixing them up while I was cooking dinner last night. \u00a0But they\u2019re pretty tasty (dangit, I still need to shed this and<\/em> last summer\u2019s Summer Weight Gain), and, what\u2019s more, said 10 year old is pretty happy to eat these for breakfast and then take another one for his snack at school. \u00a0(It really surprises me that they\u2019ve still got snacktime in 5th grade, but whatever.)<\/p>\n

Mostly, I\u2019m just hoping that I can get him to the point where he can mix these up, set them to rise, shape them, and bake them independently, because I\u2019m getting really tired of buying chips and treats that get eaten almost immediately, or \u201chealthy\u201d snacks that sit forever, and this is at least somewhere in-between. \u00a0Unless you\u2019re anti-carb, it\u2019s even healthier than banana bread, since it\u2019s got fairly little sugar in it.<\/p>\n

So, it\u2019s at least a small Mom Win this week.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
