{"id":87,"date":"2015-01-24T13:23:00","date_gmt":"2015-01-24T19:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/admin.patheos.com\/blogs\/janetheactuary\/2015\/01\/artisan-rolls-for-breakfast-an-update.html"},"modified":"2016-03-05T22:22:45","modified_gmt":"2016-03-06T04:22:45","slug":"artisan-rolls-for-breakfast-an-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/janetheactuary\/2015\/01\/artisan-rolls-for-breakfast-an-update.html","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Artisan&#8221; rolls for breakfast (an update)"},"content":{"rendered":"<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC \"-\/\/W3C\/\/DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional\/\/EN\" \"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/REC-html40\/loose.dtd\">\n<html><head><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><\/head><body><p>About a year ago, I <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/janetheactuary\/2014\/01\/from-library-new-artisan-bread-in-five.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">told you about <\/a>a new cookbook, \u201cThe New Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day,\u201d and said I might even buy the book rather than just photocopying a few recipes.<\/p>\n<p>Well, I did, and I thought I\u2019d update you on it.<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.patheos.com\/blogs\/sites\/533\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-X00yi_jPCKs\/VMPvnHMoX1I\/AAAAAAAAAHc\/1w8FcNzx9ak\/s1600\/IMG_0103.JPG\" style=\"clear: left;float: left;margin-bottom: 1em;margin-right: 1em\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.patheos.com\/blogs\/sites\/533\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-X00yi_jPCKs\/VMPvnHMoX1I\/AAAAAAAAAHc\/1w8FcNzx9ak\/s1600\/IMG_0103.JPG\" height=\"480\" width=\"640\"><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Here\u2019s the latest batch of rolls. \u00a0I probably could have arranged them more artfully, but you get the idea \u2014 they do pretty much come out looking, and tasting, like they came from a bakery, but, if you\u2019re on top of things, you can have them fresh-from-the-oven for breakfast. \u00a0I generally prefer to make these as rolls, because they require less resting time in the morning; when I\u2019m very ambitious (though this doesn\u2019t happen very often), I get up, pull the batter out of the fridge (because it really is more like batter than dough), shape up the rolls, let them rest while I exercise, then come back up from the basement, pop them in the oven, and take them out after I\u2019m done with my shower.<\/p>\n<p>The biggest problem is that the dough takes up more space in my fridge than I generally have; otherwise, I\u2019d make these much more often. \u00a0But if you\u2019re looking for an easy way to add fresh bread to your routine (I\u2019m no Megan McArdle \u2014 \u201ceasy\u201d is key here), this is it.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>About a year ago, I told you about a new cookbook, \u201cThe New Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day,\u201d and said I might even buy the book rather than just photocopying a few recipes.
