There is no greater love than laying down your life for your friends. Jesus didn\u2019t mince words in John 15:13. Over the past few days, I\u2019ve thought about what such words of sacrifice mean in a contemporary context. Then, I made the mistake of thinking about most of the pastors I know. I can only think of one or two who would take their call to follow Jesus seriously enough to give their life for their congregants. The rest are simply chicken shit. When faced with moral conflict, the chicken shit crowd is more worried about losing their standing than doing what is right. When faced with marrying two people of the same sex in violation of the rules of their church, the chicken shit crowd frets over losing their salary or pension. When the world is going to hell, the chicken shit crowd spends all of their time making sure that their own ass is going to be ok. Give their life? These folks won\u2019t even give up a little money or institutional connection. The thought of giving their lives has never even crossed their minds. I think it is important that we stay away from these pastors\u2026because the person they are following definitely isn\u2019t Jesus.<\/p>\n
