Classroom Management for Catechists<\/em><\/a> is for you if:<\/p>\n

You teach religious education.<\/li>\n
You do some other activity that involves a roomful of ~~monkeys<\/del> sweet, delightful children determined to test your holiness at every turn.<\/li>\n~~

You are trying to find victim souls<\/del>\u00a0volunteers to teach in your program, but all the likely candidates are terrified at the prospect. \u00a0(This is a healthy fear.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
It\u2019s short, readable, and covers all the usual problem scenarios. \u00a0My assumption is that you actually want to teach the kids the Catholic faith (or whatever subject you\u2019re teaching), not just play Bingo all morning. My other assumption is that you need to understand how classroom discipline works, rather than memorizing a list of handy tips. \u00a0Your students are spending their summer thinking up new and amazing ways to test your problem-solving skills. So that\u2019s what I teach: Problem-solving skills.<\/p>\n
You can see the table of contents here<\/a>, and I think it\u2019s mostly self-explanatory. \u00a0The one chapter you might wonder about is \u201cClassroom Leadership\u201d. \u00a0That one\u2019s about how to teach effectively when you have more than one adult in the room (as you probably will). \u00a0Yes, you can indeed share responsibilities and address discipline problems, all while finishing out the school year still friends with your co-leaders.<\/p>\n
