Edits for a retreat I wrote this winter, to get rid of the typos and make it all-audiences.\u00a0 [I\u2019ve done the rewrite and the forward edit, and am part way through the backwards edit.]<\/li>\n
Workbook for the French class I\u2019m supposed to be teaching this fall. [All in my head still, but I have the general outline of the class, because it will follow along with the book the older-grades students are using.]<\/li>\n
Workbook for the Latin class I\u2019m supposed to be teaching this fall. [A few notes typed up, need to lay out the overall plan in a spreadsheet, then get at least Year 1 written, and then beg my favorite Latin-singing musicians to record companion MP3\u2019s this summer.]<\/li>\n
A novel series.\u00a0 Alternative history I think is the genre.\u00a0 There\u2019s an accountant in it.<\/li>\n
The homeschooling book \u2013 sitting on ice, because \u2014 I am not making this up, it is not an excuse \u2014 I think I need a little more time before I get back to writing.\u00a0 Get the boy through high school, live a little more, all that.<\/li>\n
Bloggy blog blog blog stuff.\u00a0 Here, there, and everywhere, per my usual haunts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

2. \u00a0WHAT MAKES YOUR WORK DIFFERENT FROM OTHERS\u2019 WORK IN THE SAME GENRE?<\/h3>\n
I tend to bridge the gap between smart people and normal people.<\/p>\n

3. \u00a0WHY DO YOU WRITE WHAT YOU DO?<\/h3>\n
Non-fiction books: I wanted the book but I couldn\u2019t find it to buy it.<\/p>\n
Catholic Blogging: It was either this or drive the family crazy with my ranting and raving.\u00a0 For more on why I blog and how I got into it, here\u2019s my interview at CatholicMom.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n
Fiction: I just like to write stories.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
4. \u00a0HOW DOES YOUR WRITING PROCESS WORK?<\/h3>\n
Non-fiction books: Identify a need.\u00a0 Compose in my head. If there is procrastinating to do, write the interesting parts instead of doing what must be done now.\u00a0 Then, to finish, wait until the last minute and write frantically to get it all done in time.<\/p>\n
Blogging: Basically the same as books.\u00a0 Rant-o-Rama = Tool for avoiding other work.\u00a0 Scheduled columns = Work in the garden until the column is due, then write frantically.<\/p>\n
Fiction: Run away, hide, go have fun.\u00a0 (Hence my failure to get to the \u201cpublished\u201d part of fiction, because that requires work.)<\/p>\n
For all work: Compose in my head while doing other stuff (laundry, mostly), then sit down and write when I get a chance.<\/p>\n
