\nLet me just give one brief look into the overall structure of this book. Peters finds a spiraling descent into the ultimate evil by looking at an almost Dante-esque series of descents:
\nStep 1: anxiety \u2014 the fear of loss.
\nStep 2: unfaith \u2014 when trusting becomes difficult.
\nStep 3: pride \u2014 making myself number one.
\nStep 4: concupiscence \u2014 lusting after what they have.
\nStep 5: self-justification \u2014 looking good while scapegoating others.
\nStep 6: cruelty \u2014 enjoying my neighbor\u2019s suffering.
\nStep 7: blasphemy \u2014 satanic rituals and the destruction of the inner soul.
