It\u2019s called the Epic Fail Pastor\u2019s Conference<\/strong><\/a>. It\u2019s for failures.<\/p>\n

Back in August I wrote\u00a0a post on the blog called EPIC FAIL Pastors\u2019 Conference<\/a>. It was an idea (mostly theoretical) that had been stirring in me for a while that I finally found some time (and words) to tell about it.<\/p>\n

I was\u00a0blown away.<\/em><\/p>\n

Thousands of hits.<\/p>\n

Hundreds of emails, phone calls, text messages.<\/p>\n

Dozens of comments.<\/p>\n

I hadn\u2019t posted anything that came close to the amount of traffic that I\u2019ve gotten to this particular post.<\/p>\n

What I found out is this: We had struck a nerve among North American pastors (and even pastors outside the US).\u00a0Pastors\u00a0need to spaces to talk about their failure, identity and mistakes \u2013 and little opportunity is given or allowed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As the responses were pouring in \u2013 and the numerous people that said they would do what it takes to make this happen \u2013 we wondered if this thing might actually have some teeth to it \u2013 if we might actually be able to pull something like this off.\u00a0Could we have enough courage to actually do something that hadn\u2019t been done before?<\/em><\/p>\n

And so. We decided to go for it.<\/p>\n

The EPIC FAIL Pastors\u2019 Conference will be held April 14-16, 2011 in Lansdale, PA (Greater Philadelphia Area).<\/strong><\/p>\n

The cost is $79.<\/strong><\/p>\n

No glossy fliers.<\/p>\n

No big marketing budget.<\/p>\n

No rental of a large arena \u2013 just a gritty bar that used to be a church (but failed).<\/p>\n

Just purposeful space to tell stories, reflect, pray (a lot), eat meals slowly, connect with others, listen to others and take communion. We\u2019ll have speakers experts on failure telling stories of their own failures, mistakes, sin, gaffes and screw-ups \u2013 and they\u2019ll share how God showed up despite the failure. Hopeful. Rich. Meaningful. Significant.<\/p>\n

And as of this morning, the website is up:www.EpicFailPastorsConference.com<\/a>Check it out \u2013 and read the vision, the hope and the purpose of why we\u2019re hosting such an outlandish event at this location.<\/p>\n

Am I involved in shameless promotion of this conference we\u2019re hosting? Of course I am.<\/p>\n

Why?\u00a0Because I\u2019m convinced that so many pastors wrestle with this idea of failure constantly \u2013 \u00a0and nobody is actually talking about it.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And so, a team of us wanted to change that.<\/p>\n
