I find Psalm 119:32 fascinating. \nI see this as the desired answer to the psalmist\u2019s prayer \u2014 even if expressed as a hope of what God will do when God quickens the psalmist out of pain and humiliation. The psalmist wants to be able not just to \u201cwalk\u201d but to \u201crun\u201d on the path of God\u2019s commandments (the mitsvot<\/em>).
\nFreedom, that broad heart of joy and confidence and exhilaration at doing God\u2019s will, is what the psalmist finds. The same idea is found in v. 45: \u201cI will walk about at ease.\u201d Knowing God\u2019s will and doing God\u2019s will liberates the soul \u2014 so says the psalmist. It gives that person a heart that is at ease.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
