I love these words: \u201cThe earth is filled with your love, LORD;
\nteach me your decrees\u201d (119:64).
\n24:1: \u201cThe earth is the LORD\u2019s, and everything in it,
\nthe world, and all who live in it.\u201d
\n33:5: \u201cThe LORD loves righteousness and justice;
\nthe earth is full of his unfailing love.\u201d
\n104:24: \u201cHow many are your works, LORD!
\nIn wisdom you made them all;
\nthe earth is full of your creatures.\u201d
\nThe psalmist knows God\u2019s gracious love is spread out over the world because God made it, because God\u2019s world witnesses to his justice, and because it is filled with God\u2019s wisdom.
\nI think the decrees of which he speaks in 119:64b reflect that love and he sees God\u2019s love in the universal acclamation of God\u2019s decrees.
\nNo matter where the psalmist goes \u2014 and he\u2019s been chased all over the Land \u2014 he finds God\u2019s mercy everywhere he goes. In fact, the world is full of it \u2014 the way vessels are full to overflowing, the ocean filled with swimming creatures, a house with smoke, and the life filled with God\u2019s Spirit.
