Today I awakened a little nervous because on the schedule was that Kris and I were going to the mall for some \u201ccasual pants.\u201d This made me wonder if Kris didn\u2019t have in mind that I would be getting some jeans \u2014 an article of clothing I have not worn in more than twenty years. Every now and then Kris or one of the kids, and this excludes the occasional question by a student if I wear jeans, will get the idea that I should buy some jeans. The only thing that comes to mind is a soft pair of Oshkosh B\u2019gosh jeans. So, after lunch, we got in the car and \u2026
\nI escaped once again. Somehow, which must be explained by either luck or Providence, we didn\u2019t even see any jeans. Had Kris insisted on a pair, I\u2019d have fought back for some Oshkosh B\u2019gosh, but neither the insistence nor the pushback arose. Instead, we found some Dockers: khaki, creased, and cuffed. Just like Tony\u2019s. Very comfortable. Should keep me out of the nerves for two or more years.
