{"id":6225,"date":"2009-11-04T12:17:28","date_gmt":"2009-11-04T17:17:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.patheos.com\/community\/jesuscreed\/2009\/11\/04\/acts-and-mission-55\/"},"modified":"2009-11-04T12:17:28","modified_gmt":"2009-11-04T17:17:28","slug":"acts-and-mission-55","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/jesuscreed\/2009\/11\/04\/acts-and-mission-55\/","title":{"rendered":"Acts and Mission 55"},"content":{"rendered":"<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC \"-\/\/W3C\/\/DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional\/\/EN\" \"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/REC-html40\/loose.dtd\">\n<html><head><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><\/head><body><p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Paul.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/jesuscreed\/imgs\/Paul.jpg\" width=\"251\" height=\"251\" class=\"mt-image-right\" style=\"float: right;margin: 0 0 20px 20px\"><\/span>The missional work of God goes on and continues to expand, but Paul and Barnabas retrace their steps to visit the previous spots of mission in order to deepen and anchor those missional outposts of the gospel.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<blockquote class=\"webkit-indent-blockquote\"><p><span class=\"Apple-style-span\"><span class=\"vref\" style=\"font-weight: bold\">14:21<\/span>\u00a0After they had proclaimed the good news in that city and made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, to Iconium, and to Antioch.\u00a0<span class=\"vref\" style=\"font-weight: bold\">14:22<\/span>\u00a0They strengthened the souls of the disciples and encouraged them to continue in the faith, saying, \u201cWe must enter the kingdom of God through many persecutions.\u201d\u00a0<span class=\"vref\" style=\"font-weight: bold\">14:23<\/span>\u00a0When they had appointed elders for them in the various churches, with prayer and fasting they entrusted them to the protection of the Lord in whom they had believed.\u00a0<span class=\"vref\" style=\"font-weight: bold\">14:24<\/span>\u00a0Then they passed through Pisidia and came into Pamphylia,\u00a0<span class=\"vref\" style=\"font-weight: bold\">14:25<\/span>\u00a0and when they had spoken the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia.\u00a0<span class=\"vref\" style=\"font-weight: bold\">14:26<\/span>\u00a0From there they sailed back to Antioch, where they had been commended to the grace of God for the work they had now completed.\u00a0<span class=\"vref\" style=\"font-weight: bold\">14:27<\/span>\u00a0When they arrived and gathered the church together, they reported all the things God had done with them, and that he had opened a door of faith for the Gentiles.\u00a0<span class=\"vref\" style=\"font-weight: bold\">14:28<\/span>\u00a0So they spent considerable time with the disciples.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>This deepening ministry is by way of strengthening souls and encouraging them \u2026 reminding them that persecution is the path to the kingdom of God.
