<\/span><\/p>\n

Our third word for Advent is \u201clight.\u201d Here is John 1:4-5: \u201cIn him was life, and that life was the light of men.The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.\u201d How is the Word also \u201clight\u201d?<\/p>\n

Christmas is the time of Bright Light, the time when God makes his message bright and clear.<\/p>\n

Light is connected to the presence and being of God.
Light is connected to truth and to revelation and knowledge by revelation.
Light is connected, therefore, to Torah and to Wisdom.<\/p>\n

So, by calling Jesus the \u201clight\u201d John says Jesus is the Christmas message in Person, the message that brings the presence of God, the truth of God, and is himself the Archetypal Revelation that gave rise to the Torah and to Wisdom.<\/p>\n

The Word becomes flesh, the Word who is life and light, for humans. God sends the Light so Humans can know God. This light gives life.<\/p>\n

But, humans are enshrouded in darkness and darkness seeks to shade and darken the light.<\/p>\n
