My colleague and friend Claude Mariottini is a fan of comparing translations and thus also of the textual tradition. Just in case you wonder what I\u2019m going on about with that for the title of the post here it is:<\/p>\n
Two women in the NT were given \u201csex changes\u201d by the translation tradition.<\/p>\n
The story of Junia is well known and I wrote a small e-book on it (called Junia is Not Alone<\/em>), which is now an Appendix in the revised edition of The Blue Parakeet<\/em>. She was a woman but some strong voices in the church were uncomfortable with a woman apostle so they made her a man (Junias).
