[HT: TW]<\/p>\n<p>2. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/onfaith.washingtonpost.com\/onfaith\/guestvoices\/2010\/09\/introverts_in_evangelical_america.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Adam McHugh at WaPo<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 a very good piece.<\/p>\n<p>3. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2010\/HEALTH\/09\/21\/health.bipolar.college\/index.html?hpt=T2\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Beware<\/a><\/strong>: \u201cThe rituals of college \u2014 making new friends, studying until dawn, excessive partying \u2014 can stress out any young adult. But students with bipolar disorder, or those at risk for the condition, are even more vulnerable in a college environment.\u00a0Academic pressures, social concerns, and sleep disruptions can lead to bouts of depression as well as mania, the euphoric, revved-up state characteristic of bipolar disorder.\u00a0Without the right treatment and support, bipolar college students face higher dropout rates, drug and alcohol abuse, and even suicide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>4. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/news.blogs.cnn.com\/2010\/09\/21\/where-did-waters-part-for-moses-not-where-you-think\/?hpt=Sbin\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Where the sea opened<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 the horse and his rider.<\/p>\n<p>5. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2010\/LIVING\/09\/22\/divorced.parents.children.marriage\/index.html?iref=allsearch\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Children of divorce<\/a><\/strong>\u2026\u201dThe effect of divorce on children can be very different, says Bradford Wilcox, director of The National Marriage Project, a research group that examines marriages. Some adult children of divorced parents avoid long-term relationships and marriages, while others become determined to make their own marriage last.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>6. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2010\/OPINION\/09\/23\/rollins.obama.story\/index.html?hpt=T2\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Ed Rollins is right<\/a><\/strong>: \u201d\u00a0The oldest rule in politics is to control your story.\u00a0What that means is that, if there are five weeks to go in an election, and your party \u2014 meaning the Democrats \u2014 is in big trouble, the narrative you want to tell voters is: \u201cWhy you should re-elect Democratic majorities.\u201d\u00a0I have been amazed over the past several weeks by how the White House has lost control of the story.<\/p>\n<p>7. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.krusekronicle.com\/2010\/09\/does-culture-affect-long-run-growth.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">From M Kruse<\/a><\/strong>: \u201c<em><em>Does culture affect long-run growth? This column argues that countries with a more individualist culture have enjoyed higher long-run growth than countries with a more collectivist culture. Individualist culture attaches social status rewards to personal achievements and thus provides not only monetary incentives for innovation but also social status rewards. \u2026\u201d<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n<p>8. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2010\/09\/22\/opinion\/22friedman.html?_r=1&amp;src=me&amp;ref=homepage\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Thomas Friedman<\/a><\/strong>: \u201cStudying China\u2019s ability to invest for the future doesn\u2019t make me feel we have the\u00a0<em>wrong<\/em> system. It makes me feel that we are abusing our\u00a0<em>right<\/em> system. There is absolutely no reason our democracy should not be able to generate the kind of focus, legitimacy, unity and stick-to-it-iveness to do big things \u2014 democratically \u2014 that China does autocratically. We\u2019ve done it before.
