(Beside the obvious: learn the theology of the group you are addressing.)<\/p>\n<p>James Bryan Smith\u2019s newest book addresses corporate, or \u201cchurch spiritual disciplines\u201d: <strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0830835334?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=jescre-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=0830835334\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">The Good and Beautiful Community: Following the Spirit, Extending Grace, Demonstrating Love (The Apprentice Series)<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none !important;margin: 0px !important\" src=\"https:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=jescre-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=0830835334\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\"><\/em><\/strong>.  His 4th characteristic is that a good and beautiful community is characterized by unity with Christians because we are Christ-centered and in Christ we are one.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How can we practice more oneness? What steps are you, pastors, taking?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a tough one:<br>\n<!--more--><br>\n<strong>If we disagree, we must divide; we can only be united if we are united in theology. <\/strong><strong>Why are we afraid of one another?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the next tough one:<\/p>\n<p>We are one in Christ. That oneness means we can fellowship with one another.<\/p>\n<p>Jesus: I pray they will be one. Paul: We are one in Christ.<\/p>\n<p>There is one cup, one loaf, one body. We are to have one mind.<\/p>\n<p>The final tough one:<\/p>\n<p>In essentials we are to have unity; in non-essentials we can have diversity through charity.
