<\/iframe>\n<\/p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center\">His Desire Is For Me by Bob Emery<\/h2>\nHis Desire Is for Me<\/em> is a 30-day devotional and commentary on the <a class=\"zem_slink decorated-link\" title=\"Song of Songs\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Song_of_Songs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Song of Solomon<\/a>. The book is designed to be read over thirty days. The author Bob Emery makes the <a class=\"zem_slink decorated-link\" title=\"Allegorical interpretation\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Allegorical_interpretation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">allegorical interpretation<\/a> for this book, after carefully analyzing all possible interpretations. His approach uses four parts for each daily reading: (1) Bible verse reading, (2) a fictional account of the narrative (which itself compliments the use of narrative in the Song, (3) points to consider \u2013 which includes an exegetical analysis and interpretation of the text, (4) prayer and thoughts to remember.<\/p>\nThe devotional divides the Song of Solomon into three parts. Each part is the stage of love. The author takes the interpretation that the Song of Solomon (while a love story of a king and his lover) is most importantly the love story between God and the Christian. The three parts (1) initial love, (2) increasing love, and (3) maturing love parallel the growth of a Christian. As a Christian learns about the love of God, this love will increase and eventually mature the follower of Christ.<\/p>\nI found this devotional innovative. While it does not side-step the erotic parts of the story, it does address the main reason for the Song \u2013 that being a representation of God\u2019s love for the Christian. Emory rightly concludes that the Song encourages the Christian to increase and mature their love for God. As a Christian goes further in life, the love for God will increase and mature. Emory also shows from the Song how God will also increase and mature his love for the Christian.<\/p>\nThis reviewer enjoyed reading this devotional, and would recommend it for any Christian.
