Prophecy Watch: Watching the Trendsetters on the Catwalk<\/h1>\n

Then Jesus replied to them: \u201cWatch out that no one deceives you<\/em>.For many will come in My name, saying, \u2018I am the Messiah,\u2019 and they will deceive many<\/em>.You are going to hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, because these things must take place, but the end is not yet<\/em>.For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places<\/em>.All these events are the beginning of birth pains.\u201dThen they will hand you over for persecution, and they will kill you. You will be hated by all nations because of My name<\/em>.Then many will take offense, betray one another and hate one another<\/em>.Many false prophets will rise up and deceive many<\/em>.Because lawlessness will multiply, the love of many will grow cold<\/em>.But the one who endures to the end will be delivered<\/em>.This good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed in all the world as a testimony to all nations. And then the end will come.<\/em>

What does the end of the world have to do with \u201cGermany\u2019s Next TopModel\u201d<\/a>? How we should behave as Christians is as simple as watching the latest trends on the fashion catwalk. Models walk on the catwalk to show us the latest fashion \u2013 in a desire for us to follow their example. \u201cWear what I am wearing\u201d they tell you. You and I are like the people that are watching the models. We see all kinds of different models walk the catwalk. But we do nothing else but watch. It is like a show.<\/p>\n

In a sense, this is what Jesus is asking us to do. Jesus never told us to predict who is walking on the catwalk. He just told us to watch. He told us to talk to the other people around us about Him (this is the meaning of the phrase \u2013 the gospel of this kingdom will be preached). But to the people who walk down the catwalk, we are just told to watch what happens. Don\u2019t listen to their trendy advice, don\u2019t follow their example. Just watch them walk down the catwalk until the last one \u2013 Jesus Christ \u2013 comes down the catwalk. He will be the last trend-setter, and the most important faith fashion model that we are to follow.<\/p>\n
