The Resting Place of God\u2019s Anger<\/h1>\n

Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: \u201cBehold, My anger and My fury will be poured out on this place\u2013on man and on beast, on the trees of the field and on the fruit of the ground. And it will burn and not be quenched.\u201d <\/span>
\n(Jeremiah 7:20 NKJV)<\/span><\/p>\n

Where is the resting place for God\u2019s anger? I would suppose that the resting place would be Hell. Jesus said that Hell was created for Satan and his angels. Jesus also described Hell as a place of eternal pain and torment. What causes the torment?<\/p>\n

If God created the world and everything in it, if He keeps us alive by His power, then He also powers Heaven and Hell. Revelation says that Heaven needs no temple because God is there. His light gives Heaven light. If Heaven is a place where there is no pain, no fear, no sickness, then Heaven is the eternal resting place of God\u2019s love.<\/p>\n

Therefore, God won\u2019t get angry in Heaven. Why? Because God\u2019s anger resides in Hell. Does the anger of God create and sustain Hell \u2013 just as God Himself created and sustains the earth? Hell must be maintained forever or eventually there would be chaos in eternity.<\/p>\n

Isaiah 66:24 is referenced by Jesus as a description of Hell in Mark 9:42-48. The fire of Hell is eternal. The fuel for the fire is God\u2019s anger.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd they shall go forth and look <\/span>
\n Upon the corpses of the men <\/span>
\n Who have transgressed against Me. <\/span>
\n For their worm does not die, <\/span>
\n And their fire is not quenched. <\/span>
\n They shall be an abhorrence to all flesh.\u201d <\/span>
\n(Isaiah 66:24 NKJV)<\/span><\/p>\n

Is God\u2019s wrath the same as God\u2019s anger? Jeremiah says here that God\u2019s anger is unquenchable. Revelation states that God\u2019s wrath is completed. Therefore there is a difference between God\u2019s anger and His wrath.<\/p>\n

What causes the torment in Hell? It can\u2019t be Satan because He is punished by going to the lake of fire. It can\u2019t be a demon for the same reason. What or who provokes the torment? Obviously, it is the anger of God. He sets His anger in Hell so that we can experience His complete love in Heaven.<\/p>\n
