Psalm 84:1-12<\/p>\n
This psalm reflects the desire that eventually comes to everyone who follows Christ \u2013 the desire to be in God\u2019s presence permanently. The reason is because being in God\u2019s presence is pure joy. This joy is better than any drug, sex, or other enjoyable experience or place.<\/p>\n
We are happy because we are near God\u2019s presence. Just as a child enjoys the home of their parents, we enjoy the dwelling of God (Psalm 84:1-4).<\/p>\n
We are happy because we know God is with us everywhere we go (Psalm 84:5-7). We are happy because we know that God will listen when we pray (Psalm 84:8-9).<\/p>\n
Think about how enjoyable it must feel to the psalmist. He says that he would rather spend one day in God\u2019s place and presence than 3 years elsewhere (Psalm 84:10). Why? Because God gives grace, glory, and goodness to those in Him (Psalm 84:11-12).<\/p>\n
With those reasons in mind, I would happy too. I would feel so secure that I would experience pure joy.<\/p>\n
Prayer: God, I look forward to the day when I enjoy Your presence forever. Help me experience those happy moments one day at a time.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
