I\u2019m out of the country on a 12-day trip that\u2019s part vacation and part pilgrimage.\u00a0 Yes, you\u2019ll hear all about it when I get back.\u00a0 Until then, take a look at the top 11 keywords people use to find Under the Ancient Oaks on search engines.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n

The vast majority of you come to Under the Ancient Oaks in one of two ways.\u00a0 Either you\u2019ve got me bookmarked and you come here directly, or you come here from a link on Facebook.<\/p>\n

But some people find me through Google or Yahoo or one of the other search engines.\u00a0 How they find me is rather interesting and I thought I\u2019d share the keywords that bring them here.<\/p>\n

11) the morrigan<\/strong> \u2013 Considering all I\u2019ve written about and for Morrigan, this comes as no surprise.\u00a0 Hopefully people who search for Her will end up here or on the Coru Cathubodua<\/a> site and not on the site of some TV show or video game.<\/p>\n

10) parthenon<\/strong> \u2013 I have pictures of the original Parthenon in Athens<\/a> and of the replica in Nashville<\/a>.\u00a0 Athena Parthenos<\/a> is another common search term, but it doesn\u2019t make the top 11.<\/p>\n

9) fate vs free will<\/strong> \u2013 One of my most popular posts<\/a> turns up fairly high on a Google search of this term.\u00a0 I hope people click on my link and not on the link of a Calvinist or a biological determinist.\u00a0 I believe we should act as though we have free will, even though at times we appear to be controlled by fate.<\/p>\n

Make enough choices \u2013 including choosing not to choose and including choices you don\u2019t recognize as choices at the time \u2013 and eventually you find yourself on a path that bears a strong resemblance to fate, even though it is simply the cumulative consequences of your free will.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

8) how to become a druid<\/strong> \u2013 A lot of people find this post Becoming A Druid<\/a>, which is my response to those who say we shouldn\u2019t claim the title since we know so little about the original Druids.\u00a0 I hope some of them also find my Druid Reading Recommendations<\/a>, which is a good place to start on a Druid path.<\/p>\n

7) bloom where you\u2019re planted<\/strong> \u2013 I heard that phrase a lot growing up, and I used it as the title of a Spring Equinox homily for a UU Sunday Service.\u00a0 I used the homily as a vacation post last year<\/a>.<\/p>\n

6) so mote it be<\/strong> \u2013 This was one of my most popular posts<\/a> on Blogger.\u00a0 I would write that post rather differently if I rewrote it today.<\/p>\n

5) john beckett<\/strong> \u2013 It\u2019s nice to know a few people are searching for me.<\/p>\n

4) pagan, paganism<\/strong> \u2013 One of Managing Editor Christine Kraemer\u2019s blogging suggestions was to tag every post with \u201cPagan\u201d and \u201cPaganism\u201d.\u00a0 It works.<\/p>\n

3) temple of hephaestus<\/strong> \u2013 It\u2019s not that the write-up of my visit to the Temple of Hephaestus<\/a> in Athens is so popular, it\u2019s that there aren\u2019t very many pages on it period.\u00a0 So if you\u2019re searching for the Temple of Hephaestus \u2013 one of the best preserved of all the ancient Greek temples \u2013 you\u2019ll likely find my post.<\/p>\n

2) patheos, patheos pagan<\/strong> \u2013 I\u2019m not sure how Google is sending people here from the more generic terms, but apparently it is.<\/p>\n
