<\/a> I think I need to begin by stating that I don\u2019t see light and dark as good and evil. We need a balance of light and dark in our lives \u2013 we don\u2019t need a balance of good and evil. I\u2019ve heard it said that good is balance and evil is imbalance\u2026 I\u2019m not sure I agree with that, but I do agree that evil needs to be eliminated, not balanced.<\/p>\nIn this meditation, I see the light as the known, the fixed, and the comfortable. I see the dark as the unknown, the uncertain, and the scary. In this sense, I think we all have a tendency to seek the light and cling to the light. But it\u2019s only through embracing the dark that we\u2019re stimulated to grow. Stay in the light all the time and you\u2019ll grow complacent \u2013 stay in the dark all the time and you\u2019ll burn out.<\/p>\n
Do I have an adequate balance? Yesterday\u2019s entry on Gardners and Crowleys would say no. This is going to require some more introspection \u2013 introspection that\u2019s too deep for blogging.<\/p>\n
