This month we have something different: music from Melanie Gruben\u2019s new album A Fairy Song<\/em>. Melanie performs \u201cPuck and the Hour of the Wolf\u201d with lyrics from Shakespeare, \u201cPoor Life Choices\u201d \u2013 her song about what happens when you try to make a deal with the Fae \u2013 and \u201cFolk Wisdom.\u201d<\/p>\n

\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\nFebruary 9 through 11 I\u2019ll be at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/imbolc-retreat-2018-tickets-40154903397\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">ADF Texas Imbolc Retreat<\/a> at the U Bar U retreat center in Mountain Home, Texas. It\u2019s suitable for Pagans and polytheists of all varieties, and it\u2019s drivable from almost any place in Texas. I\u2019ll be speaking on \u201cBuilding Alliances Across Our Many Communities.\u201d This is my Pantheacon presentation. I get to do my first public presentation in front of a small friendly audience, and those who are there get to hear it a week before everyone else.<\/p>\nThe next weekend I\u2019ll be at <a href=\"https:\/\/pantheacon.com\/wordpress\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Pantheacon<\/a> in San Jose, California, the largest indoor Pagan gathering in the world. I\u2019ll be speaking on \u201cBuilding Alliances Across Our Many Communities\u201d on Saturday February 17 at 11:00 AM in the Carmel\/ Monterey Room.<\/p>\nOn Saturday at 1:30 I\u2019ll be speaking on \u201cPagans and Bad Assumptions\u201d in the ADF hospitality suite. This is the full length version of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/johnbeckett\/2017\/08\/religion-bad-assumptions.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">this Sunday service<\/a> from last year.<\/p>\nOn Sunday at 1:30 I\u2019ll be speaking on \u201cThe Shredded Veil\u201d in the OBOD hospitality suite. This will be an opportunity to share our thoughts on the increase in Otherworldly experiences many of have noticed over the past few years, and to talk about what they might mean.<\/p>\nAnd on Sunday at 3:00 Jason Mankey and I will be part of a panel discussion on Cernunnos in the ADF hospitality suite. I\u2019m not sure what Jason has in mind, but I expect it will be an expanded version of our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/johnbeckett\/2017\/10\/ancient-oaks-cernunnos.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">Cernunnos video<\/a> from Beyond the Gates.<\/p>\nApril 20 through 22 I\u2019ll be one of the featured guests at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.couup.roundtablelive.org\/event-2582278\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">2018 CUUPS Convocation<\/a>. If you\u2019re a UU Pagan and you have the ability to travel, I strongly encourage you to support the only national gathering for CUUPS. And if you\u2019re going, I encourage you to register early. Local CUUPS members had to deal with Hurricane Irma and its aftermath instead of planning and promoting Convo \u2013 they\u2019re getting a late start. But all is well and back on schedule and they could use the early commitments.<\/p>\nAnd I\u2019ll be one of the featured guests at <a href=\"https:\/\/mystic-south.com\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Mystic South<\/a>, July 13 through 15 in Atlanta.
