We hear it all the time. How we\u2019ve moved into a post-Christian era. A time and place where children are growing up far removed from the faiths of generations before them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Imagine, John Lennon said, there\u2019s no hell below us, no heaven above, only sky. Imagine a world of no religion, all the people living for today.<\/span><\/p>\n

Imagine the whole of history void of Creator God.<\/span><\/p>\n

What about the beauty?<\/span><\/p>\n

What about the goodness?<\/span><\/p>\n

What about the creative?<\/span><\/p>\n

Imagine a world where there is no Sistine Chapel, no Florence Cathedral.<\/span><\/p>\n

No Michelangelo, no Makoto Fujimura<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

No Dorothy Day, no Mother Theresa.<\/span><\/p>\n

No Martin Luther, no Martin Luther King Jr.<\/span><\/p>\n

No Protests on the Door of Wittenberg Chapel, no Letters from a Birmingham Jail.<\/span><\/p>\n

No St. Peter\u2019s Basilica, no Cath\u00e9drale Notre-Dame de Chartres.<\/span><\/p>\n

No Saint John of the Cross, no \u201cDark Night of the Soul\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

No John 3:16, no Billy Graham.<\/span><\/p>\n

No Book of Common Prayer, no Scriptures, whatsoever.<\/span><\/p>\n

No della Francesca Baptism of the Christ<\/em>, no da Vinci Adoration of the Magi<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

No Handel, no Hallelujiah Chorus<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Imagine a world absent of inspiration and adoration.<\/span><\/p>\n

What need, then, would we even have of the word Hallelujah?<\/span><\/p>\n

To whom would we utter our thanks?<\/span><\/p>\n

Would Praise<\/em> even be a word we know?<\/span><\/p>\n

Would Prayer?<\/span><\/p>\n

Would Hope?<\/span><\/p>\n

Would Joy?<\/span><\/p>\n
