The first is for all of those we\u2019ve lost \u2026<\/p>\n

Prayer for the Faithful Departed<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cMy God, my God,<\/p>\n

Why have You forsaken Me?\u201d<\/p>\n

From the depths of Your Passion, sweet Christ,<\/p>\n

You cried unto the Father.<\/p>\n

From the depths of our grief<\/p>\n

We cry unto You.<\/p>\n

With wounded hearts,<\/p>\n

Empty arms,<\/p>\n

We cry unto You.<\/p>\n

For the souls of our beloved departed,<\/p>\n

Purifying in Purgatory,<\/p>\n

Especially those whose wounds most need Your healing mercy,<\/p>\n

We cry unto You.<\/p>\n

For the faithful souls in Heaven,<\/p>\n

Who gaze upon Your face,<\/p>\n

But whose faces are beyond our sight,<\/p>\n

We cry unto You.<\/p>\n

For the innocent who never drew breath,<\/p>\n

We cry unto You.<\/p>\n

For those unrecorded and unremembered<\/p>\n

Except in Your Sacred Heart,<\/p>\n

We cry unto You.<\/p>\n

For those who did not look to You in life,<\/p>\n

Who lived the life of the world<\/p>\n

With no thought of the life to come,<\/p>\n

We cry unto You.<\/p>\n

Oh, Blessed Lord, the Alpha and the Omega,<\/p>\n

The source and destination of our souls,<\/p>\n

We beg your grace for the living and the dead,<\/p>\n

For the sake of the world,<\/p>\n

We cry unto You.<\/p>\n

Grant them eternal rest, Lord,<\/p>\n

And let perpetual light shine upon them.<\/p>\n

Kyrie, eleison,<\/p>\n

Christe, eleison,<\/p>\n

Kyrie eleison.<\/p>\n

Amen.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And the second is for those we\u2019ve lost in Hollywood \u2026<\/p>\n

Prayer for Departed Artists<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lord of all creation,<\/p>\n

Most loving and just God,<\/p>\n

You are the source of everything good, true and beautiful.<\/p>\n

When we put forward our words, our music, our images, our voices, and our movement in service of Art,<\/p>\n

All has its birth in You.<\/p>\n

As the Holy Spirit descends to inspire the faithful artists,<\/p>\n

So Sister Death gathers them back into the welcoming arms of the Father.<\/p>\n

With sorrow and hope, we bid farewell to points of light now gone out,<\/p>\n

Celebrating the beauty they produced in life,<\/p>\n

Sending prayers aloft to You for their souls and the grief of their loved ones.<\/p>\n

We also mourn for ourselves, facing a future left a bit less bright.<\/p>\n

But always, Christ our King,<\/p>\n

We know You will set new lights ablaze,<\/p>\n

And help us bank the creative fires in our own hearts,<\/p>\n

To better praise You in Your Glory,<\/p>\n

Through your Mercy and boundless Love.<\/p>\n

With all those the Holy Spirit inspires, we ask intercession from<\/p>\n

Our Blessed Virgin Mary, the embodiment of Christian holiness,<\/p>\n

Ora pro nobis!<\/p>\n

St. Clare, who watches over television,<\/p>\n

Ora pro nobis!<\/p>\n

St. Veronica, who watches over photographers and filmmakers,<\/p>\n

Ora pro nobis!<\/p>\n

St. Cecilia, who watches over musicians,<\/p>\n

Ora pro nobis!<\/p>\n

St. Vitus, who watches over dancers,<\/p>\n

Ora pro nobis!<\/p>\n

St. Genesius, who watches over actors,<\/p>\n

Ora pro nobis!<\/p>\n

St. Francis de Sales, who watches over writers,<\/p>\n

Ora pro nobis!<\/p>\n

St. Luke, who watches over visual artists,<\/p>\n

Ora pro nobis!<\/p>\n

And St. Isidore, who watches over the Web that binds us together,<\/p>\n

Ora pro nobis!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
