Over at CatholicVote<\/em>, I take a look at AMC\u2019s hit zombie drama \u201cThe Walking Dead,\u201d which airs its 90-minute season-five finale on Sunday, March 29, and why everybody \u2014 but me \u2014 seems to love a zombie.<\/p>\n

As for me, I don\u2019t care for zombie stories, because I just don\u2019t find brain-chomping cretins to be that interesting (and they\u2019re extremely gross). I\u2019d rather have the elegant vampire, defying death in style; the werewolf, struggling with an animal nature that overwhelms the human one; or the Frankenstein monster, a meditation on the foolishness of man trying to play God.<\/p>\n

Zombies are disgusting, filthy and stupid; all they do is eat your brains while shedding rotted parts along the way. \u00a0I accept that the human stories in \u201cThe Walking Dead\u201d are fascinating, but there are still zombies.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

There are also links to stories telling you where to go to avoid the zombie apocalypse (Montana) and where you\u2019re certain to be on the menu (sorry, Bakersfield), and an assortment of Catholic views of why the undead may have to work hard to get our brains but already own our imaginations.<\/p>\n
