Redheaded woodpeckers drumming,<\/p>\n

Gold \u2013 crested thrushes behind;<\/p>\n

Sparrows in brown jackets,<\/p>\n

hopping Past every gateway and door;<\/p>\n

Finches, with crimson caps, stopping<\/p>\n

Just where they stopped before.<\/p>\n

March! March! March! They are slipping<\/p>\n

Into their places at last. . .<\/p>\n

Literature white lily buds, dripping<\/p>\n

Under the showers that fall fast;<\/p>\n

Buttercups, violets, roses;<\/p>\n

Snowdrop and bluebell and pink,<\/p>\n

Throng upon throng of sweet posies<\/p>\n

Bending the dewdrops to drink.<\/p>\n

March! March! March! They will hurry<\/p>\n

Forth at the wild bugle sound,<\/p>\n

Blossoms and birds in a flurry,<\/p>\n

Fluttering all over the ground.<\/p>\n

Shake out your flags, birch and willow!<\/p>\n

Shake out your red tassels, larch!<\/p>\n

Grass blades, up from your earth \u2013 pillow.<\/p>\n

Hear who is calling you. . . March.<\/p>\n
