Somewhere in the world today, Baby Seven Billion was born.<\/strong><\/p>\n
Of course, we don\u2019t know who this baby is, or where she\/he is. Baby Seven Billion is a linguistic device, an instrument of the global population control movement, intended to fill with fear and trepidation any adult foolish enough to do more than reproduce him\/herself.<\/p>\n
The world, we are told, is facing a population crisis so profound that soon, a dearth of resources and a shortage of groceries will weaken our civilization and threaten the very existence of the planet.<\/p>\n
Or not.<\/strong><\/p>\n
Stephen Mosher, founder of the Population Research Institute, points out that Baby Seven Billion has been born into a world that is more prosperous than our forebears could ever have imagined. As the population has increased, so has personal wealth and national wealth. With improved crop yields and modern agrarian techniques, agriculture has kept pace with the demands of a more populous society. The UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund) warnings about overpopulation disregard a worldwide decrease in fertility rates.<\/p>\n
Babies, it turns out, are very good for the economy. People\u2014with their ingenuity, productivity, creativity\u2014are our greatest resource.<\/strong><\/p>\n
Children are a blessing from God, a gift of the Lord. But you knew that.
