D. Vance, for most Americans watching it Walz won. How so? Morality was on the line, and Walz proved more moral than Vance.

But that’s not what most expert analysts have been saying ever since, thus in the past 24 hours. Most of them claim Vance won the debate because they are looking mostly for one thing: who is the better debater. But that is not what the American public is looking for.

J. D. Vance-2024; CREDIT: Wikipedia

People are looking for the man who sounds the most believable, the man who sounds the most honest, the man who they can trust, and that was Walz. And I would add to this—that Walz actually was more convincing than Vance, thus more persuasive. The bottom line is, who was the most persuasive in his arguments and thereby won the debate? That is not decided alone by words, but how words are spoken. I think Walz came across much better on this score, thereby revealing his sincerity. And as I said in yesterday’s post, Walz made a huge impression on me that he was speaking so directly to his listeners with conviction.

Vance outright lied many times, but Walz did not. This is extremely important to most voters. Most Americans believe that Donald Trump lies a lot. So, Vance was on the line for this. And what Vance demonstrated on the stage last night was that he is somewhat of another liar like Trump. How so?

Vance constantly blamed Harris for what Joe Biden has done as president. In doing so, Vance tried to deceive listeners into making Harris responsible for what Biden has done. A high school kid who has taken a course on political science could have spotted that deception. According to our system of government, the vice president is merely at “the beck and call” of the president. As President Harry Truman famously uttered at his desk in the Oval Office of the White House, “The buck stops here.” Whatever Vance was accusing Harris about was what Joe Biden did, not Harris. Therefore, this constant refrain from Vance showed that he can’t be trusted.

But the main highlight of last night’s debate, as I also said in my post, was that when Walz asked Vance point blank if Trump lost the 2020 election, he would not answer. Instead, he said, “I’m focused on the future.” Walz then replied immediately, “That’s a damning non-answer!” You’re darn right Mr. Walz. And the Harris campaign, in less than 24 hours, has already got TV ads showing that exchange. It’s a big winner.

That is a huge red flag that should wake up slumbering America. Why do I say “slumbering”? That’s what America has been for years for putting Donald Trump in the White House.
