De vez en cuando Dios llama a profetas en medio de la injusticia y confusi\u00f3n del mundo para hacer saber su voluntad y dar direcci\u00f3n a los hombres. \u00a0Martin Luther King Jr. fue uno de estos profetas y vivi\u00f3 aqui mismo en nuestro estado de Georgia.<\/p>\n

Cuando el profeta Jerem\u00edas fue llamado por Dios para predicar su Palabra, Jerem\u00edas rechaz\u00f3 a Dios diciendo que era demasiado joven. \u00a0Dios lo reproch\u00f3 diciendo, \u201cno me digas que eres un muchacho. Ir\u00e1s adondequiera que te env\u00ede, y proclamar\u00e1s todo lo que yo te mande.\u201d \u00a0Jerem\u00edas acept\u00f3 su llamado y predic\u00f3 sin temor. \u00a0Al final fue ejecutado por aquellos que no les gustaba su mensaje.<\/p>\n

Lo que mas me impresiona de Martin Luther King Jr. es que, al contrario de Jerem\u00edas, no crey\u00f3 que era demasiado joven. \u00a0En solo 39 a\u00f1os de vida llev\u00f3 a cabo algo que ning\u00fan hombre anteriormente pudo. \u00a0Sab\u00eda que no tenia mucho tiempo como se ve en sus palabras, \u201cla calidad y no la duraci\u00f3n de la vida de uno es lo que importa.\u201d \u00a0El d\u00eda antes de ser asesinado en el a\u00f1o 1968 dijo, \u201cDios me ha permitido escalar la monta\u00f1a y he \u00a0visto el otro lado. \u00a0He visto la tierra prometida. \u00a0Quiz\u00e1s no llegue con ustedes. \u00a0Pero quiero dejarles saber esta noche, que todos nosotros, como pueblo, llegaremos a la tierra prometida.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hoy celebraremos el cumplea\u00f1os de este profeta de nuestros tiempos. \u00a0El llam\u00f3 a toda una sociedad a la conversi\u00f3n siendo testigo de la verdad mientras enfrentaba prejuicios injustos. \u00a0Santa Catarina de Siena dijo una vez que \u201csi somos quienes debemos ser, encenderemos al mundo con fuego.\u201d \u00a0Esto es precisamente lo que hizo Martin Luther King Jr.; sigui\u00f3 el llamado de Dios y ciertamente encendi\u00f3 al mundo, transform\u00e1ndolo y creando una sociedad justa para todos sin que importara el color de la piel. \u00a0En la foto superior ven a Martin Luther King Jr. en una protesta rodeado por dos sacerdotes catolic\u00f3s.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
