One evening while on retreat at Mont Saint Michel in France, I stood at an overlook to watch the tide come in. \u00a0The wind was strong and the water came in quickly. \u00a0There weren\u2019t many people around allowing me to enjoy the moment almost by myself. \u00a0I wished I could capture the moment with a picture or video, but neither did it justice, so I opened my journal and decided to sketch what I saw.<\/div>\n

View at 9:20pm. \u00a0You can see how the water is still far away mostly around the small island in the middle and along the coast in the background.<\/div>\n

View at 9:50pm. \u00a0By this time the tide had risen considerably, flooding a good bit of the area.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n

View at 10:05pm. \u00a0Not much dry land remained.<\/div>\n

View at 10:15pm. \u00a0Just a few minutes later more of the land would be covered with water. \u00a0By the time I went back to the Abbey, the tide had reached its peak.\n
