<\/div>\n
He sido sacerdote solamente por dos mi\u00e9rcoles de cenizas y ambos a\u00f1os me he conmovido con las palabras \u201crecuerda, hombre, que polvo eres y en polvo te convertir\u00e1s.\u201d \u00a0Estas palabras se convierten aun m\u00e1s conmovedoras al colocar cenizas en las frentes de los ni\u00f1os. \u00a0Ni\u00f1os que aun tienen todas sus vidas por delante, pero que aun permanecen polvo que en polvo se convertir\u00e1.<\/p>\n
Esta realidad es resaltada cada a\u00f1o en la liturgia de la Iglesia por una raz\u00f3n: para que nos convirtamos y creamos en el evangelio. \u00a0Recordando que somos polvo y que al polvo regresaremos es una llamada para ir al encuentro de Cristo quien ha vencido la muerte. \u00a0Nos invita a esperar en la promesa mas grande de la historia, la promesa de vida eterna para quienes creen en Jes\u00fas, comen su cuerpo y beben su sangre.<\/p>\n
En la Roma antigua, un esclavo permanec\u00eda al lado de su general durante los grandes desfiles militares, dici\u00e9ndole en voz baja: momento mori, recuerda que morir\u00e1s. \u00a0En manera parecida, por quinientos a\u00f1os, el maestro de ceremonias de la coronaci\u00f3n Papal tres veces le anunciaba al nuevo Papa durante la procesi\u00f3n al quemar r\u00e1pidamente una fibra de linaza: sic transit gloria mundi, as\u00ed pasa la gloria del mundo.<\/p>\n
Este es el mismo sentimiento que las cenizas deben evocar en nuestros corazones. \u00a0Un sentimiento que nos impulsa a buscar a Dios al recordar nuestras muertes y al reconocer que el mundo es pasajero. \u00a0Durante la cuaresma somos impulsados al arrepentimiento y a buscar el perd\u00f3n de Dios. \u00a0Somos impulsados a confiar y esperar en Jesucristo, en quien poseemos la vida eterna.<\/p>\n
