Today I returned to my high school for the annual Diocesan Catholic School Teacher Institute. \u00a0I taught a session on the Gospel of Saint John.<\/p>\n
My new (an unique) experience began when two of my three high school religion teachers entered the classroom to attend my session. My calculus teacher also came. \u00a0The classroom where I taught had been my history teacher\u2019s class, Doc, who influenced my decision to study history.<\/p>\n
When one of my religion teachers arrived, I said to him, \u201cI think I need to sit down, and you need to be up here.\u201d \u00a0He laughed.<\/p>\n
What an experience. \u00a0I felt grown up. \u00a0I felt thankful for my teacher\u2019s dedication which allowed me today to be back at my high school teaching. \u00a0My sophomore religion teacher was the first person to ask me if I had ever considered the priesthood. \u00a0My senior religion teacher was my first philosophy teacher, introducing me to Plato and Aristotle. \u00a0He best prepared me for college and eventually seminary. \u00a0My calculus teacher challenged and expanded my mind even though I had a limited interest in mathematics. <\/p>\n
I wonder what was going through their minds? \u00a0It was a great experience.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
