Before leaving Rome though, after four years of being surrounded by ancient, medieval, renaissance and baroque churches, I decided to visit the God Merciful Father Parish, or the Millennium Church, at the Roman suburb of Tor Tre Teste.<\/p>\n<p>It was a long journey. The 100-minute trip took two bus rides and one trolley ride across the city. The church sits amidst suburban apartment buildings and stores. Completed in 2003, it is a masterpiece of the well-known architect Richard Meier.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, Mass ended as I arrived, but to my surprise, I enjoyed visiting the church. Light flooded the building from all directions.
