Dramatically, that may work.  Thematically, the inefficacy of the dumb show prepares for the efficacy of the spoken speeches that follow. <\/p>\n<p> In the Elizabethan world: Dumb show = late medieval Mass, performed as a spectacle with mumble-jumbled Latin.  Speeches = Protestant preaching.
