<\/p>

Because Israel rejects the gentle river of Shiloah, which supplies water to Jerusalem and makes Jerusalem the garden-city of Yahweh, Yahweh threatens to bring another river, the <\/em> River, a personification of the King of Assyria, flowing through Judah with all his glorious chariots and armor and shining spears (Isaiah 8:6-7). River Assyria will flood into Judah and nearly drown her. <\/p>\n

But that is not the last overflowing river that comes through Judah in the prophecy of Isaiah. Someday, another river will overflow into Jerusalem, but this time it will be a blessing to the people of Yahweh, as they bring their glory into the city (66:12). <\/p>\n

When Israel drinks from Shiloah, she is inundated with another glory-river, a river of Gentiles who now devoted all their wealth and strength to Israel\u2019s God. <\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
