The oracle against Moab is organized in a fairly neat chiastic structure: <\/p>\n

A. Oracle against Moab \u2013 wailing and lamentation, 15:1-4 <\/p>\n

B. \u201cMy heart cries,\u201d 15:5 <\/p>\n

C. Green things wither, 15:6 <\/p>\n

D. Riches of Moab taken away, 15:7-9 <\/p>\n

E. Refuge for outcasts in tent of David, 16:1-5 <\/p>\n

D\u2019. Pride of Moab, 16:6 <\/p>\n

C\u2019. Fields and vines struck, 16:7-8 <\/p>\n

B\u2019. \u201cI weep bitterly,\u201d 16:9-12 <\/p>\n

A\u2019. Word that Yahweh spoke, 16:13-14. <\/p>\n

One of the points this structure clarifies is the identity o fthe \u201cI\u201d in 15:5. By linking it with 16:9-12, it becomes obvious that Yahweh Himself joins in the lamentation over Moab. <\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
