Every since I \u201cvirtually adopted\u201d Cardinal Se\u00e1n O\u2019Malley<\/a> of Boston last week, I have been praying for my adopted shepherd. I\u2019d be lying if I didn\u2019t admit to at least one prayer that sounded something like this:<\/p>\n

\u201cI know you have your hand on this Conclave, Lord. If it\u2019s your will (and I hope it is!) that Cardinal Se\u00e1n be called to serve as Pontiff, please bless his endeavors to lead others closer to you through his life and his service to your Church.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

I don\u2019t want to give God marching orders, but I\u2019m not above listing my intentions with a little specificity.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why I paid close attention when this video from Rome Reports landed in my inbox, proclaiming, \u201cCardinal O\u2019Malley will not abandon Caphuchin Cassock\u201d<\/a>. It seems a few others have joined me in speculating what would happen if Boston\u2019s Cardinal were elected:<\/p>\n

Watch the video carefully and you\u2019ll hear that Cardinal Se\u00e1n humbly declares that he doesn\u2019t believe he\u2019ll have cause any time soon to change his vestments. But I\u2019ll keep praying that God\u2019s will be done\u2026<\/p>\n

This \u201cadoptive\u201d Cardinal of mine has an amazing crew behind him to help deliver news of the Conclave to the faithful in Boston and beyond. My talented friend Domenico Bettinelli blogged today at Boston\u2019s Pilot New Media site<\/a> about the efforts of Pilot New Media and the whole Catholic Media Secretariat at the Archdiocese of Boston to bring the news home from Rome. If you\u2019re a Catholic geek, you\u2019ll definitely want to take a gander at Dom\u2019s post and his interactive photo which lists all of the tools that George Martell and Scot Landry will be using to paint a full picture of the events at the Vatican. Knowing how well this team has covered past events around the globe gives me great confidence that they are one of THE places to turn for a first-hand account of the Conclave.
