I\u2019ve already linked to Christianity Today\u2019s \u201cMost Redeeming Movies of 2006<\/a>\u201d list (a list of the most inspiring, redemptive big-screen stories of the year).<\/p>\n

And I\u2019ve linked to their critics\u2019 \u201c Cream of the Crop<\/a>\u201d list (a list of the films that CT critics found to be the most accomplished works of cinematic art).<\/p>\n

But there\u2019s another list I forgot to mention: the Readers\u2019 Poll<\/a>!!<\/p>\n

A \u201ccritic of the critics\u201d recently criticized CT Movies film reviewers for being \u201cout of touch\u201d with their Christian readers, thinking that we needed to learn something from the majority. Perhaps it will be eye-opening for us all to see what exactly the readers chose <\/em>as the Best Film of 2006\u2026<\/p>\n

The winner: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man\u2019s Chest<\/strong><\/em>.
\nThe runner-up for best movie of the year? X-Men 3: The Last Stand<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

Are Christianity Today<\/em>\u2018s film critics thinking differently about films than the majority of their readers?<\/p>\n

Clearly.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll leave that up to you to decide if that\u2019s a sign that we\u2019ve \u201clost [our] evangelical conviction,\u201d or if we just prefer films that dig a little deeper, demand a little more than the year\u2019s biggest blockbusters\u2026.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
