<\/p>\nNot many novelists have so impressed me with their first novel that I would literally jump for joy in the bookstore to discover their second novel. But when I stumbled unexpectedly onto THIS yesterday, yes, I did jump, and it was for joy.<\/p>\n

I have my copy sitting next to my keyboard as I type this. As soon as I get a chance to read a novel for fun again (and I pray that the opportunity comes soon), I\u2019m starting with this.<\/p>\n
If you haven\u2019t read his first novel, Peace Like a River<\/em><\/strong>, you\u2019ve missed a memorable pleasure. I remember reading it and thinking \u201cThis should become an Oscar-winning film directed by Robert Redford and starring Brad Pitt.\u201d Not much later, it was in the news that Billy Bob Thornton was interested in making the film, and that Pitt was interested in starring. That was a long time ago, but I\u2019m still hopeful.
