This past week, a document titled \u2018Report on eliminating Gender Stereotypes in the EU<\/a>\u00a0(European Union)\u2019 was introduced on International Women\u2019s Day. The report was put together with the intention of advocating for effective sanctions on the companies and individuals promoting the sexualization of girls. The report caused an uproar across the blogosphere as some believe that it is laying the groundwork for internet censorship. The European Parliament will be voting on whether to endorse the conclusions of the report prepared by the Committee on Women\u2019s Rights and Gender Equality on March 12th.<\/p>\n

With all the articles being written on the matter, we thought we would discuss the matter at hand along with talking about our thoughts on pornography \u2013 Are civil liberties the main thing that should taken into consideration? Should the impact that the porn industry has on others be taken into account? What (if any) impact does pornography have on women in particular and gender equality? How does its usage effect us personally?<\/p>\n

We will be meeting on\u00a05255 N. Ashland Ave.<\/a>\u00a0this Monday, March 11th. You can find us in Room 124 at 7pm. If you\u2019re available beforehand, we will be meeting at 5:15pm at Lady Gregory\u2019s on\u00a05260 N. Clark St.<\/a>\u00a0to hang out and have a bite to eat and we would love to have you join us.<\/p>\n
